An Awesome New Year’s Cocktail

Here’s a cocktail I tried in the Far East, although I suspect it’s Australian. For your NYE celebration, try this;

Reposado Tequila
Citrus liquor
Lime juice
Madagascar vanilla stick or essence
Burnt lemon slices (cut slices and burn outsides with a caramelising torch)
Sugar or Honey
Infuse, shake up and serve on the rocks.

It doesn’t seem to have a name – perhaps someone can suggest one?

    Perhaps we could go back to the days of not mucking up good liquor? but have you seen the price of good scotch these days? My husband switched to Irish.

    How about calling it “Lemon Sunrise” (working on the basis that one will have a devil of a painful head come sunrise)?

    Essentially a Margarita with extras – will give it a go.

    I LOVE cocktails. Had a ‘Pacific Island Iced Tea’ on the Queen Mary last year – Champagne instead of Cola plus 4 quality spirits – £27:00 – bargain – euphoria in a glass. Who needs drugs when you’ve got cocktails like that? Think you should call it ‘Spanky’s Revenge’. Not sure why – just think he deserves a cocktail named after him. Right – gonna make one (or two) now. Cheers.
