It looks as if ‘The Casebook of Bryant & May 1; The Soho Devil’ is not going to be appearing anytime in the immediate future. The finished fifty-page full-colour graphic novel I’ve been working on with cult artist Keith Page has been unable to find a publisher either in the UK or the US. The [...] Keeping track of various members of the Peculiar Crimes Unit has always been a bit of a puzzler for readers, but I hope this forms a definitive appearance list. Janice Longbright, Colin Bimsley and Ian Hargreave, the policeman Janice used to date, all appear in my very first novel ‘Roofworld’. Bryant and May make their first appearance [...] W F Howes, our excellent audiobook champions, are finishing the latest novel and it should be out soon for you to hear. That’s the way to do it! It seems Mr Keith Page and myself will be adding to the Casebook in order to turn it into something more than a mere graphic novel – there’ll be features and art as well. Here’s the latest to the growing collection of ‘alternative’ covers provided [...] Regular readers of this site will know that I try to maintain a level of interactivity about my books, and it appears from your comments that you favour stand-alone stories with an overall development arc that moves the lives of those in the Peculiar Crimes Unit ever-onwards. Thank God for that, because it’s where I’m headed. At the moment, we still have no [...] Photos of another beautiful Bryant & May matchbook – I didn’t know they did them in the UK – sent to me by Mike Nicholson, whom I met last night at the lovely launch held in the new Goldsboro Books store. A huge turnout with lots of old and new friends, all in the bookish [...] My friend Mike Nicholson has sent me some drawings he’s done from ‘Bryant & May In The Soup’, one of two Bryant & May stories that appear in the volumes of ‘Red Gloves’. I love seeing what artists do with the characters. Oldies are always more interesting to draw that smooth-faced young’s! You can find [...] At least, five of you can. I’ve struck a deal with Transworld, who are going to allow me to invite five guests to my launch party for ‘Bryant & May and the Memory of Blood’ on October 4th. All you have to do is drop a comment on this site answering a simple question. The [...] Well, the Bryant & May comic is finished, but we’re still waiting to hear back from comic publishers, who have gone into slow-motion summer mode.
