Films Which Have Really Peculiar Moments In Them – No.1

Right in the middle of Leos Carax’s wonderfully surreal movie ‘Holy Motors’, in which an eccentric millionaire is driven around the city in order to adopt different guises, the action stops dead and Denis Lavant dons an accordion in a church. What follows is an exhilarating interlude in an already strange movie. Enjoy.

“What have I done to deserve this”, in this film there are many odd moments. Like the crowd outside a cafe window looking in as two of the characters have a heated discussion at a table. Or where you see the film crew and wagons when the credits finish and the film begins with a tracking shot across a court yard….

This scene from ‘O Lucky Man’ is pretty peculiar, in my opinion:

The UFO bit in Monty Pythons Holy Grail was a bit of a surprise. But for sheer enjoyable weirdness,I enjoyed it when we got a quick glimpse of the band playing the on “beat poetry” influenced soundtrack on the recent Birdman film….nice touch. Michael Keaton has a brief look at them then simply moves on
