Whatever Happened To This Guy?

London

Australian singer Rob Dougan’s fast, furious, dark videos and songs were big around 1998, which (Good Lord) makes them 16 years old, but after a short career of filmic, strangely moody hit tracks he disappeared from the music scene. His track ‘Clubbed To Death’ was used in ‘The Matrix’. Actually he bought a vineyard and began making wine. It was a loss to the music industry, though. I like this one, took, in which he gets dragged up a building. It doesn’t look like it was much fun to make!

There’s a brief interview with him here – he is indeed making wine for the time being…

Clubbed to Death still sounds great 16 years later. Rob Dougan’s music reminds me of Craig Armstrong (only slightly more prolific) and he’s just released a new album after a few years away.

Evidently Rob Dougan is making some of the best wines in Languedoc.

People obviously have the same resources.

Clubbed to Death is older than that, it was originally released on Mo’Wax back in 1995 under the name Clubbed To Death. Either way still sounds good.

Or put it another way, that song will be 20 years old next year. Now that makes it sound very old.
