Feel free to come along to any of these events and say the usual things; ‘You’re much older than I thought you’d be,’ ‘I loved your first book – you were very good in those days,’ and the ever-popular ‘I’ve never heard of you but I have a friend who likes you.’ (This said by a woman at a signing who still wasn’t buying a book but clearly needed to impart this information.) My all-time favourite was, ‘Well, you don’t look like my idea of an author.’
So far I’ll be appearing at the Hampstead & Highate Literary Festival on September 16th, where there’s be a panel and signings, and the event always gets a good turnout. All are welcome and the details are here.
On October 3rd I’ll be in Welwyn Garden City, then visiting the Grimmfest movie weekend in Manchester on October 5th, and on October 13th I’ll be in Wood Green at the Big Green Bookshop. Details on those nearer the time.
