Title

Road Trip!

Christopher Fowler
Plaza_Virgen_de_los_Reyes,_Seville,_Spain_-_Sep_2009 Expect sporadic outbreaks of blogging for a few days while I go on a road trip starting in Seville and ending who knows where. I'm researching a novel and also using the opportunity to escape London as we enter our ninth month of a bitter, bleak Gulf Stream-free winter that makes February in Iceland seem joyful by comparison. Seriously dude, do NOT visit London this summer! Seville is scorching, achingly beautiful and under-visited by tourists who are missing out on its stunning waterside restaurants, orange trees, wide green river and baroque architecture. Bells, marching bands, skydiving swallows and gleaming quiet streets await the early summer traveller...

Have you been hired by the Seville Tourist Board? Have a great trip and post more lovely pictures like the one above. Weather is getting crazy. I just left Fairbanks Alaska and the temps were up to 80 degrees F with little snow piles in all the parking lots.

Apparently Germany is no better, Chris, so don't come too far north.

Too late to take your advice about not visiting London this summer...We have tickets to Wimbledon.

The last time we were in London - well actually, old Windsor - it was November and we nearly got washed away by the Thames. But as it happens, our next trip will not likely be this year, summer (so-called) OR winter.

I'm hoping for good weather at the end of summer, especially in northern Germany.
