Just a few more posts before the end of the year, with next year shaping up as a bumper one. ‘Invisible Ink: How 100 Great Authors Disappeared’ is in bookshops right now from Strange Attractor Press, ‘and The Casebook of Bryant & May is now ordering in its beautiful hardback limited edition from PS Publishing here. The first Bryant & May graphic novel was written partly to bring new readers up to speed on the Peculiar Crimes Unit, and partly for seasoned fans who’d get the jokes.
In April ‘Film Freak’, my memoir about arriving in the film industry just as it was on the verge of collapse, will be published by Transworld, and in August comes ‘Plastic’ from Solaris, my black-comedy thriller about a shopaholic housewife wanted for murder. ‘Bryant & May and the Bleeding Heart’ will arrive soon after that, with another to follow, plus a new dark thriller, a Hammer radio play, a section of an anthology horror movie called ‘Bloody London’ and of course the play, which I’m still rewriting.
But just so you don’t think I’m shirking, there are a few other books and surprises on their way. Sorry about the additional bookshelves required for this lot, but you should see it from my side is all I can say!
Recently a cab driver asked me what I did and I told him I wrote. He said; ‘I didn’t mean a hobby, what do you do for a living?’ Always welcome, that one.
