‘Red Gloves’ Nominated for Bram Stoker Award

Observatory

I heard yesterday that ‘Red Gloves’ has been nominated for Superior Achievement in a Fiction Collection by the Horror Writers Association. This is a world event and the awards are announced at the World Horror Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 31. The full list of nominations is as follows:

Voices: Tales of Horror by Lawrence C. Connolly (Fantasist Enterprises)
Red Gloves by Christopher Fowler (PS Publishing)
Two Worlds and In Between: The Best of Caitlin R. Kiernan(Volume One)by Caitlin R. Kiernan (Subterranean)
Monsters of L.A. by Lisa Morton (Bad Moon Books)
The Corn Maiden and Other Nightmares by Joyce Carol Oates(Mysterious Press)
Multiplex Fandango by Weston Ochse (Dark Regions Press)

I’d love to be there but have committed to another event that week – I did some reading up on the city and it sounds a bit mad, which is appealing. As you know, I use the blog to big up my books so efficiently that it took Stephen Groves congratulating me in a blog comment to shame me into mentioning it!

It’s too bad you have to be somewhere else that week. Salt Lake City puts you just a few mountains away from the west coast.
