Film It For Free

The Arts

To celebrate the publication of my collection ‘Red Gloves’, I’m giving away options to new film-makers. If you’d like to make a short film from one of my stories, simply contact me and I’ll give you a free option to film it. Normally film-makers have to buy a one-year option to a story before they can film it.

Many of my stories prove surprisingly adaptable to different approaches, partly because they contain just a handful of characters in limited locations. One of the tales in the new collection features just two characters in a tiny space, but there are others for the more ambitious that are far more wide-ranging. The above shot comes from the gruesome ‘On Edge’, directed by Frazer Lee, starring Doug Bradley and Charlie Boorman.

I offered free story options once before for an earlier collection, and it resulted in dozens of short films being made by budding film-makers, many of which proved successful for their producers and directors, and eye-opening for me.

If you’d like to do this, just leave a comment and I’ll get back to you with further details.

Thanks for giving the film of ‘On Edge’ a mention Chris, the 7 months making it are among my happiest memories to date. Red (rubber) Gloves and all that dental equipment – bliss! 12 years later the film is STILL going strong, playing festivals and giving people cause to cancel their root canal appointments. All thanks to you for giving us indie filmmaker types a chance. Cheers!
