Where The Magic Went

London

Earlier in this column we were investigating what happened to London’s magic shops, and found that there are at least four, including the wonderful one in Clerkenwell where disgusting magician/comic Jerry Sadowitz can sometimes be found behind the counter.

And of course there’s this guy in Camden Market, who has been there for a few years now. What’s interesting is that he’s not really selling magic tricks because he’s a skilled magician, so if you did buy the pack of cards he’s showing in this clip, I think you’d have to work hard for a while before getting quite the same effects from it!

Christopher – I dare you to go and buy the deck/pack of cards from him. I think you may be surprised at just how skilled you need to be be. 😉 No spoilers once you've bought.

The other Magic Studio I was trying to remember was Ken Brooke's.

I would like to suggest to any young Englishmen who think it’s a good idea to stand on a street corner in downtown Vancouver and plead for a loan to pay the airport improvement tax so they can make their flight home to Penzance that they think again because I’m calling the police the next time you try to beg money from me.
By the way – don’t get rid of all your Canadian money before you fly out of Vancouver because the airport improvement tax is real and is not included in your ticket. We don’t like it either.
We will now return to regularly scheduled broadcasting.
