Beyond Borders

Reading & Writing

Canadian friend Rick Drew sends me this infinitely sad picture of a dead bookshop. (‘It’s deceased, it’s pushing up the daisies.’) Borders wasn’t a good shop but at least it had some books on its shelves. Now it just has a sad motto, and will then become a Starbucks filled with people who have nothing to read. Aaah.

I find chain book stores somewhat disappointing anyway, not as disappointing as a chain store Coffee though. Tasteless rubbish. Its hard to find a really good cuppa anywhere in the uk high street… Okay there are a few good place’s but few and far between. Shame about the book shop demise though i love poking about the shelves….
