Nothing Natural About Jan Moir
For years we’ve conveniently turned a blind eye when the Daily Mail publishes hate articles on subjects it thinks its dim suburban readers want to read (I certainly have, having had interviews published by them). So it’s good to see that Jan Moir, who penned an unforgivably disgusting piece on singer Stephen Gately’s untimely demise (‘There’s nothing natural about Stephen Gately’s death’) breaching sections 1,3,5 & 12 of the Press Complaints Commission code, may finally have opened the eyes of many who have not complained before.
With a record number of complaints recorded and advertisers rushing to pull their money out of the Mail, I wonder if she even realises that for once she is in the position of one of her targets, ostracised and loathed by a nation.
Moir regularly writes columns making snide suggestions linking celebrity lifestyles and sexuality. In recent articles she has attacked Graham Norton, John Barrowman and Peter Mandelson, all of whom happen to be gay, while going on about how much she fancies man’s man Daniel Craig. But the only way bloated bigot Moir will get close to Craig is if he attends her funeral. Pressure should be kept up on Moir to stop writing these hate-pieces. Perhaps even the toothless PCC will take notice when she’s dumped.
