It’s not often I find myself agreeing with the Daily Mail, but their invitation to Lord Rogers to meet at the East London sink estate he compares to Bath’s Royal Crescent hit the right note. This claustrophobic concrete hellhole is deemed a marvel for the poor by architects who live in £4 million town houses, who imagine its cheery proles replaced by Trellick Tower trendies using their electric scooters along the terraces. Jonathan Glancey offers an intelligent perspective on the problem here. Watch if only for the grotesque ‘revisioned’ model at the RIBA exhibition that imagines it covered in triangles.

  1. I.A.M. says:

I see what you mean about the triangles. It’s like someone’s taken a giant egg-shell and stuck it on the end, isn’t it? “I know, let’s make it look like it’s hatching from an egg; like a gigantic, concrete serpent!”

Nice idea to sketch, lousy idea to put into action.

  2. im more often than not scurrying all across the net the majority of the time hence I have a tendency to browse a lot, which isn’t typically a good factor as most of the internet sites I visit are constructed of unnecessary trash copied from some other web pages a million times, but I gotta give you props this site is honestly enjoyable and also offers a bit of genuine information, for that reason many thanks for splitting the trends of solely replicating other individual’s websites, in case you ever want to take up a few hands of zynga poker together just shout out – you have my e mail 🙂
